Adam (Lielani), good work on the other info. Going to work on this here, under your post. It was your idea, I have no plans of "stealing" that idea. I do plan on seeing that this section gets proper attention.

You'll find this organized in the following order:
1. Guild rankings by Era
2. Guild histories and lineages

- Guild rankings by Era (need help here) -
These are ranked on general strength of the guild during the era, essentially what they killed and how quick they were to do it. This may not be 100% completely accurate, but guilds who were significant in power are at least going to be listed.

Old world Era (need help here):
1. Sorrows End (Legacy of Sorrow)
2. Triad
3. CoS
4. Da Horde
5. Ascendance

Kunark Era (need help here):
1. Legacy of Sorrow
2. Apex
3. Triad Continuum
4. Insidious Blood
5.

Velious Era (think this is correct):
1. Legacy of Sorrow
2. Endorean / Sacred Sanctuary (until disbanded)
3. Insidious Blood
4. Triad Continuum / Ancient Crusade
5. Heroes.

SoL Era (need help here):
1. Legacy of Sorrow
2. Endorean
3. Insidious Blood
4. Asura
5.

PoP Era (need help here):
1. Endorean
2. Legacy of Sorrow (until disbanded)
3. Insidious Blood
4. Five Rings
5. Veil of Shadows / Blood Alliance / Asura

Ranking adjustments/corrections thanks to Raviel, VH, and others.

- Guild Histories and Linages -
This is a general listing of guild histories, as submitted by posters on the boards from memory. Anyone can submit info for this, and offer information on a lineage or guild. This is in no real order, and the original concept, format, and first 6 listings are credited to Lielani.

1. Legacy of Sorrow line
Sorrow`s End ~~> Legacy of Sorrow ~~> (Veil of Shadows)

Sorrow`s End formed on Day 1 of Luclin (January 15(?), 2000), comprised mostly of players from the Karana Server, lead by Thermy (later Sorrow`s and Xeoo), Brizah and Neku. Leveled quickly and recruited heavily from other early high level guilds (Philosoma, Four Corners of Sorcery, Collegue of the Sanctuary). After establishing top guild status with server firsts, Neku forms Legacy of Sorrow (June 2000) after disagreement over leadership with Thermy. Legacy of Sorrow continues through the Kunark Era on top (server-first wise), and grows gradually in numbers. After disagreement with Neku, Xylian leaves LoS with Aililie and forms Veil of Shadows (December 2000). LoS remains on top (again, PvE server-first wise) throughout the Scars of Velious Era, and Shadows of Luclin Era. Large takes over most leadership responsibility in the middle of Velious through the beginning of Shadows of Luclin. Nagumo leads from the end of Luclin to the middle of Planes of Power. Sever becomes LoS' second leader in title during PoP (January 2003). Iggnatius becomes third leader 3 months after Sever. Legacy of Sorrow disbands May 28, 2003.

2. Triad Continuum Line
Triad Continuum ~~> (Apex) ~~> Endorean ~~> (Five Rings)

Triad Continuum formed on or about Luclin Day 1 (January 15, 2000), comprised mostly of players from the Bertoxxulous Server, lead by Odomora. Triad establishes themselves as the number two guild behind Legacy of Sorrow in terms of PvE kills. Early in Kunark, disgruntled members leave and form Apex (August, 2000), lead by Tumble in title, and Wang physically, also had members from Paradigm of Blood and Ascendance contributed to the leadership core as well. Triad is weakened but remains intact. Apex contends for top spot with Legacy of Sorrow, and take the Plane of Sky server-first clearing. Early into the Scars of Velious expanison (approx. January 2001), Apex's top leadership retire from EverQuest, Tumble disbands the guild, and the members are spread between retirement, joining Legacy of Sorrow, reforming under the name Endorean (Guild name formerly belonging to Torlack, Deeva and Amberyll), or in some cases returning to Triad Continuum. Triad reestablishes number 2 status for a short period of time, while Endorean slowly rebuilds what they lost in Apex. Ransom splits from Endorean (I could be dead wrong on this, but I think i have it right), and forms Five Rings (previously a Hawaiian based guild). Triad gradually loses power as Endorean gradually becomes stronger. By the end of the Shadow's of Luclin Era, Endorean has established themselves as the number 2 guild, while Triad continues to wain. Triad Continuum all but disbands early in the Planes of Power Era, Five Rings wavers in the middle of the high end guilds, as Endorean takes the top spot from Legacy of Sorrow with server firsts such as Rallos Zek, Solusek Ro and Fennin Ro.

3. Insidious Blood Line
Circle of Magic + (other guilds, need help here) ~~> Insidious Blood

I dont have much to add here, other than Circle of Magic and some other original server guilds condensed into Insidious Blood, and were lead by Bolak. Legacy of the Chosen also for the most part merged with Insidious Blood later on, I need dates and more info here.

4. Asura Line
Hyakka Ryoran ~~> Asura

Japs, they tear things up with low numbers. Lol, need help here too.

5. The Tiarc Line
Tiarc ~~> Tiarcs ~~> Sacred Sanctuary ~~> (Five Rings to some extent)

Not sure at all on how Tiarc was started, I cant even really remember their leaders. After Apex disbanded, a good chunk of them left for a reformed Tiarc (now known as Tiarcs), then once again reformed as Sacred Sanctuary. I BELIEVE that after SS was disbanded, many ended up in Ancient Crusade or Five Rings. Need more info here. - Lielani

Tiarc believe just started as group of friends, dont recall how many from what server. Shadowen (druid) was guildleader up through Kunark. End of Kunark/Very Early Velious (dont remember exactly) the name Tiarc became bugged during a guild purge so Tiarcs was used. Same guild, fewer people. Shortly after, Shadowen retired from game, dont remember who took over basically leaderless. Mid-Velious Tiarcs dissolved and core group of 21 people reformed as Sacred Sanctuary with Sanadan as guildleader. Sorrow's End (i believe it was about 10-15 people who kept the tag...Bijinko, Iggnatious etc..)members merged with SS a short while later.
Guild grew to low 50-60 ish people and did decently well late Velious killing Dain, Statue, WToV dragons etc. Conflicts over growth, recruitment, loot etc caused some members to leave... mainly to LoS and Endorean. Right as SoL arrived guild was essentially disbanded, members scattered to LoS Endo IB Veil etc. Early SoL a decent number of former SS joined Five Rings with Ransom as guildleader. - lumudan

6. The Line of the Nut
Nuggets of Justice ~~> Tallards (ALL PRAISE THE NUT!)

7. Silent Sentinels (by Harmdalet)
Sisters of Norrath ~~> Silent Sentinels
~~~~ Steel Gladiators ~~/
Began as Sisters of Norrath, and all female guild, I don't know who led it, but Svea, Videl, Kiili (Seelenah/Finiti), maybe Seel's sister (aka brother?) who played a high level rogue, and Cerra were all in it. Ironically looking back all were mangina other than Svea, lol.
They left that guild to form the Silent Sentinels with Glimpse/Stryke as guild leader. Were allied with the Steel Gladiators, headed by Raventod, and eventually merged with them, though the name remained Silent Sentinels and Stryke and Raventod were co-guildleaders. The thread where Stryke and Raventod posted back and forth flaming each other was the best thread in F&R bar none, but that's opinion and not fact. Unfortunately no copy of that thread was saved.
After a while Stryke was mainly playing DAoC, so he passed on the reigns to Kayleigh/Osprey.
After some rebuilding from the DAoC days, we hit up the HoT, outraced GR and Heroes to a Sev kill in the most sportsman-like race I've been involved in (kudos to those guilds), got god damn close to beating Woushi, straight up pwned West Wastes and were capable of finishing any epic quest.
We were consistently ranked #10 in power rankings on Luclin, but most people forget we never went anywhere without our close allies, Nemesys. This caused us to spam ooc with our guild commands since we couldn't keep it all in /gu among two guilds, and annoyed the residents of the Temple of Veeshan greatly the two times we raided there.
The Silent Sentinels disbanded in late March / early April 2002, and the members initially went to about 25%/25%/30% to IB, Triad, and Nemesys, and the rest to other guilds.
8. Glorious Rising (by Troy)
Glorious Rising ~~> (Sheep / Code of Silence / El'lar Abbilen)
Glorious Rising was started March 14, 2000 by Troy, Drudori, Tiluvar, Sylvane(Quit at lvl 35) and Tiboutte(Quit at lvl 25)
Some of the first members we had were Graal, Zogbull, Bloodkin, Slistak, Zeldoran, Senador, Alfonse and Flinteye.
Of the original 20 members 9 are still playing. I think one of the things that helped make GR a success was the fact that we did not have alot of turnover.
GR, more than anything, prided ourselves on being the good guys. In the process, we were for a short time, the largest guild on the server.
GR disbanded on November 25th, 2002 when the stress of running a guild exceeded the fun. The following guilds are were the majority of former Glorious Rising members went.
Code of Silence is almost completely made of EX-GR, the casual raiders that wanted to just play on our own time and have fun. With an active roster of only about twenty-five members, we pride ourselves on doing things with few people or the incorrect mixture of classes. :)
El'lar Abbilen was initially made of mostly EX-GR, lead by Senador.
Sheep was started with the core of raid oriented players from GR, lead by Tiluvar. They continue to grow into one of the bigger players on Luclin.
  1. End of Sol and all through PoP Insidious Blood was the top guild on the server ran by Chopasuey and Teana.
